KitaKitalu

Yet another sleazy comedy from EVV and the gang.. somehow this guy Krishna Bhagawan spells cheap comedy to me.. yuck!!!

The story line however is good about how even a fat lady/person also has a life and cannot be denied life's simple pleasures, etc. Good story lost somewhere in the silly antics and yucky.. jokes.. balavantamga pattukuni kitakitalu pettina navvalem... EVV brand comedy ishtapaditey it is a good movie with message.

Red - The Dark Side

Starring Aftaab, Celina, and Amrita Arora, this supposedly suspense thriller is neither a thriller nor a suspense drama.. plunging necklines of the heroine, passionate intimacy between Aftab and Celina, everything is so predictable right through the end..

Can watch once.. Story starts with Aftab recieving a heart just in time he was about to die and then regaining his new life and wanting to thank the donor's family, the guy gets trapped in the donor's wife's life and how he turns murderer and a plotting person is the crux of the story!!

Anasuya

Bhumika does these wonderful woman oriented roles even when heroines are portrayed as display pieces.

I remember seeing an episode in CID in sony TV based on the same concept.. the story becomes very predictable towards the end and more than a fast-paced movie, it does look like a only-for TV made movie.

Refreshing to see Abbas after long, Bhumika is her usual self, good performance and great looks :).

It is Breaking News..

Another movie in the reality-bug hit movies :).. makes a good watch and gives an insight of how the media works, a lesson to learn and a lot more to realize..

slow place gets to you at times but okay watchable.

can watch once.

Okka Magadu

Out and out NBK movie.. only fans can watch. when one writes stories and directs them based on an actor's image, I guess after a point one gets saturated, there is no chance for performance left.. just antics.

But for a change, NBK wig selection was good, songs were well-picturized.. the heroines looked good too but they were made to look like cheap sex-starved bimbos.. yukk!! NBK and the directors, make wholesome family movies and learn to give a little more credit and intelligence to female characters. Simran had an okay role but yukky makeup.. in all, it is simple NBK fan tolerable movie..

can see but at your own risk.

Tare Zameen Par

It came as a sudden surprise to me.. heard about it for a while but nothing that i read prepared me for that visual treat.. yup. it indeed was a visual treat, the first gutter shot in the movie was taken out so artistically and there it caught my attention and held it throughout. The first half felt more like a kids art movie but then the concept demands that. A novel concept, shot beautifully with mainstream actors, brought tears to my eyes at some point.

Must watch movie.. and Amir has not let me down this time too..

Kora Kagaz

A golden oldie with some wonderful performances by the lead stars and great songs like mera jeevan kora kagaz, etc..

Storyline dealing with how a mother's extra involvement ruins the family life of the couple and they reunite at the end.

Good watch in even today's circumstances.

Showbiz

Looks like more of realistic cinema going on these days, khoya khoya chand deals with casting couch, bollywood trends in mid 80s etc., and this one Showbiz deals with the ugly side of the media, reality shows, false hype, malice in news, etc.

Decent enough performances by the newcomers considering that is what the hero is supposed to play in the movie, good movie with a good concept and a good message.. but a little too much of dramatization of events but there sure are glimpses of reality in that, especially the page-3 journalism stuff and live sting operations, etc.

Can watch once.

Raju Bhai

Surprisingly, I was very very hesitant watching this movie considering this was Mohan Babu's second son's movie and fans please forgive me, I dont really like that clan in movies, too much to digest (purely personal opinion), and this turned out to be an okay movie, in fact a little sensible too.

A seedha-sadha value based guy joining the local goonda's gang, falling in love with a girl, coming out of the gang and becoming good for her love but due to some misunderstanding he re-joins the gang and for the same girl, he opposes the leader and almost loses his life. Sounds complicated to list out but it was an unexpected good one :).

Can watch once.

Yama Gola Malli Modalayyindi

True, it is gola gola movie.. Starring Srikanth, Venu, Krishna Bhagawan, Meera Jasmine, and Rima Sen, I should say it is a typical nonsensical comedy with a few actors thrown in here and there.. awww.. the concept of Yama's and Chitra Gupta's Grandson's coming down to earth and jr. yama falling in love with the person he is supposed to take life of but jr. gupta fulfilling his duty, thereby pleasing the grandfather yama and thereby requesting his friend's girlfriend's life as a boon in return forms the crux of the story interwoven with unnecessary cheap comedy track as expected with Krishna Bhagawan in the cast.. phew.. waste of time

Strangers

Jimmy Shergill.. man!! what has this guy started working in?? I dont really understand his choice of movies, especially of late.

It is a routine story with wife and husband, insecurity playing havoc in the relationship and an extramarital affair but with a different treatment and a twist in the tale. Beginning with a train journey, the movie takes an unexpected turn at the end but finally fizzes out.. can see once though..

If anyone happens to see the movie, please let me know how this guy killed the wife (still scratching my head) kiss of death.. uhhu.. uhhuu..

Neetho

A movie made by Ushakiran banner set in unrealistic background, unrealistic settings, 2 newcomers and the usual comedy track guys.. Rajeev Kanakala's wasted performance is a pity, man this guy has potential but why does he take the same role again and again and again.. phew..

An ultra-rich guy, US-returned, joins a college course for 1 year with an intention to find a girl who loves him for what he is and not for his money and all that routine stuff, falls in love with the college beauty who is arrogant and they have this wierd bet which is to act as if they are in love for 30 days and at the end of it if the girl loves the guy actually they will marry otherwise part their ways.... hero.. naaaaaaahhhh.. this guy has too common a face to be a glamor hero, heroine is okay but overacts at times, comedy track is utter nonsense..

you dont feel like a hammer on the head but watch it only and only if there is nothing else.

Charlie Wilson's War

Watched this on Christmas eve with OH. It is a good movie based on true story of congress man Charles Wilson, the man who was single-handedly responsible for rescuing the Afghans from the Soviet bomber aircrafts, mobilizing funds and working with the CIA and US government aiding in the cold war and all about how he dealt with the situation and in the end how it inadvertantly triggers off the aftermath.

It is worth watching just like any other thought-provoking Tom Hank's movies. This guy choses movies real well!!

Viyyala Vaari Kayyalu

A goodie goodie movie, gives that very mid 80s movie feel, you know, that Shoban Babu starrer movies with chelli, anna, senti stuff.

Starring Srihari and Uday Kiran, after the first half you begin to wonder where the hero vanished. The concept is good, loving an individual and getting married only with the blessings of both families and in a traditional way than just eloping and creating a lot more problems in the wake of it.

Uday, a hairstylist (modern-day barber) falls in love with a factionist's (goodie goodie one) sister and how he pleases the man and makes him agree for the wedding forms the first part and the second half deals with the hero's father, a strict (resigned judge) opposes because of prestige issues and not wanting to be associated with criminal background family, etc., and how both hero and the girl's brother turn tables and win the guy's father's good will.

This movie and the concept gained a little popularity with the Srija's elopement and some dialogues uttered by Uday about elopement and marraige. For me, with all the Uday-Sushmita-Chiranjeevi episode and the fresh Srija episode, it seemed as if it were divine justice or whatever.. before the chiru fan club attacks me with knives and daggers, it is just a plain coincidence, the timing of the release, I say!! and neither me nor the hero in the movie has anything against Chiru.

Can watch the movie once!!

Happy Days

The Movie of the year or maybe even touted as the movie of the decade, made by an engineering graduate for the engineering grads featuring 4 years of their life and ups and downs. I can only enjoy and feel good about the college days 'cos I have never been to one.. (did my college through distance education) and this I am sure brings about all the feelings for the college days for those who had been there and seen that and done that rather :).

Casting is good, the concept is great, the friendship, the puppy loves, the infatuations, everything about the movie has a good feel to it. Must watch if you are an engineering grad, must watch even if you are not just to see how it feels :).

Sekhar Kammula, as usual, has delivered the best out of everyday experiences. Hats off.. sooooo Sush Certifies ;)!!

Saawariya

Booooooooohooo...

This is the movie that I saw on my visit to India, had been there with my family, bro, mom, me and my friend, second show. Based on some short story, it seemed more of a theater drama than a celluloid movie. Excuse me for being so senseless, tasteless, and non-artistic, but I did not like the sets, did not like lillipop, did not like garish make-up of Rani, did not like the hero's exposing or butt-showing or whatever (yukkk!!!), did not like Salman with 2 sand bags under his eyes, did not like that excess use of blue and black colors everywhere.. in short, did not like anything in the movie...

I was stuck in the theater not able to run away or come home because it was the second show and was cursing myself all the time for letting myself into this ultimate torture of the year movie.

The surprise package, though, was the heroine, I liked her delicate features and felt she is one of the most good looking ladies in the current crop :). Hero, Randhir... awwww.. gimme a break from drippingly chocolaty kapoor clan guys for a while!!! Maybe I would have tolerated it had I watched it at home forwarding and finishing it off in half-hour or so, but it was a pain for me not knowing when one song ended and the other began and why it began in the first place...

Aaja Nachle

The much-touted Madhuri's come back vehicle, to me, was all talk no fizz.. loved the title song and the dance number by Madhuri and her tips to Nandita about what love is and how to impress the guy and carry one self but that is it.

The movie is all about senti stuff, saving the arts theater Ajanta which is about to be demolished to construct a shopping mall to raise the revenue and develop the village but all the villagers come together to perform a dance-drama and save. The local leader lays a condition that if there is any such performance involving only the artists from the village, he would let go the mall project and retain the heritage and a few conscientious people come together and make it a success.

I watched the movie in instalments, can watch it once but with no expectations whatsoever from the star cast and the banner. Yashraj films is sure losing its Midas touch..

Dus Kahaniyan

This is one movie which we can watch on TV, an experiment in movie making, grouping 10 different stories directed by 10 different directors and which has an unique feel to it.. it is like khichdi of sorts with no particular feel to it. A few of the short stories are really good. For me it was more like watching 10 serials at a time than one movie but it kept me intersted all through. I liked the ones featuring Shabana Azmi and Naseeruddin Shah and the one with Amruta Singh better than the rest.

Watch it for fun.. Sush Certifies ;)!!

Gauri -- The Unborn

Awwww.... Ouuucchh.. this is what comes to my mind when I think of this movie. Watched it in Nighi Videos site, did not hear the name even once so with an intriguing caption, it was kind of urging me "come Sush, watch" and after watching my inner self was asking me "why Sush WHY??

Did not actually understand what the makers were trying to potray, the story line does not classify to come either under female infanticide or feoticide, neither a thriller or a horror.. just plain bore..

It is about the spirit of an unborn baby girl called Gauri aborted by the parents as they are not ready to start the family at that time which decides to teach a lesson to the parents for killing her, for not remembering her ever after, and just carrying with their lives!!!

I for one am not for such things as abortion but this movie certainly will not go with today's audience who like to plan everthing in their life.. do not watch it unless and until you are ABSOLUTELY BORED...

Khoya Khoya Chand

It is a good movie with some good performances by Soha Ali Khan and Shiny Ahuja. The story set in the middle 50s depicts the circumstances at that time in the film world, story about two struggling individuals who make it big with their talent and hardwork, their love story, their break-up due to the ego clashes, and then their reunion and coming together for a movie which makes a history of its own eventually proves life comes full circle. Can watch once, seemed realistic... Sush certifies ;)
